This course, newly updated for version 5.0, provides students with exposure to the core skills, workflows, and concepts involved in professional nonlinear editing on Avid Media Composer systems.

Come and learn about the new and exciting functionality that has been added to Media Composer for version 5.0. The course will cover the new timeline direct manipulation tools, AMA enhancements, mixing frame sizes and aspect ratios, transcoding mixed rate material, and the new user interface updates.

This class covers editing and effects techniques for both Macintosh and Windows systems. Session time is divided between demonstration and hands-on practice, with dedicated lab time for experimentation with sample material. This course is also appropriate for Avid Symphony users.

Paying for someone to take piano lessons can also make a really nice, unusual gift if you want to give them something a little different for a change! 

All music styles can be taught, depending on the needs and desires of the student such as: renaissance, baroque, romantic, classical, rock, popular and jazz. Music theory, scales, chording, harmony, ear training, sight-reading skills, improvisation and improving the creativity and quality for those who are currently playing keyboards of any type for churches and, showing you how to sing and play at the same time. Instruction is also available on most band and orchestra instruments and organ for church. I have a harpsichord for those who are interested in playing early music more authentically. 

Lessons are made to be a fun and rewarding experience! Part of how this is accomplished would be to make the student an "instant musician" through the use of improvisation. 

Students are all expected to practice on a daily basis at their own home as the lesson is not considered to be practice. Summer breaks are discouraged because of the subsequent loss then of what the student has learned. 

If unable to attend a lesson, 24 hour advance notice to the instructor is required or there will be no refund for the lesson that was missed. Exceptions would be for illness, family emergencies or hazardous road conditions. Payments for lessons are expected to be made at the beginning of the month for that month's lessons. 

Initial investment for piano student's books is usually around $20.00. And, the type of books used, depends on the individual learning style and ability of the student.

This program is offered for those who are interested in learning typical Japanese traditional floral art called Ikebana. If you are interested in Ikebana and want to learn its basic skills, this course is highly recommended. Although the skills of Ikebana arrangement cannot be used for doing floral business in USA, we still find lots of people who have keen interest in learning Ikebana. Our chief instructor has over 30 year experience in teaching Ikebana not only here in USA but also in Japan. This traditional floral art requires very sensitive skill and detailed oriented techniques compared with regular kind of floral arrangement originated in Europe. Take arrangement items for instance, Ikebana uses what is called "Kenzan" (needlepoint holder to hold flowers). This is not disposable item unlike oasis used for European style arrangement. There are uncountable needles inserted on a very heavy metal plate. Flower stems are inserted onto the needles to be firmly held there. Unlike using oasis, it MAY require more subtle skills to use Kenzan. When it comes to vase, Ikebana often uses what is called "Suiban" (flat type container specifically designed for Ikebana arrangement).  Therefore the skills and techniques are somewhat different from regular kind of European floral designs. If you do not have Kenzan and Suiban, you need to buy these items. You can get them for $30 in total at our classroom. You can take lessons per this course on weekdays and also on the weekend as well. If you are too busy to attend daytime classes, you can join the evening class at San Jose classroom. If you believe that you have skills in floral designs and want to brush up on your skills, we recommend you to join Fresh Flower Arrangement Intermediate Course offered by California Flower Art Academy. This course is offered for those who already have a certain level of experiences in floral design or have any flower design related educational background.  This course consists of  so many designs (21 designs as of Dec 20, 2010. Subject to change in the future) so that students can become familiar with various kinds of floral arrangements. Therefore the price is a little bit expenseive  ($714 covering not only tuition but also flower materials, oasis and minimum required container/vase).

Usually students who completed Fresh Flower Arrangement Elementary Course joins this Intermediate Course or proceed to business oriented courses such as Wedding Floral Decoration Course or Funeral Flower Arrangement Course. If you want to really master floral designs, it is a very good idea to enroll in this Intermediate Course. All the students who want to get a qualification of flower arranging instructor needs to proceed to Fresh Flower Arrangement Intermediate Course.

The lesson fee is only $89 which covers not only tuition but also flowers and other materials. By attending this program, you can learn 2 kinds of wreaths and earn basic skills of how to make a wreath. If you want to learn more about wedding floral decorations, we recommend you to join Wedding Party Floral Arrangement Basic Course (In order for you to qualify to enroll in Wedding Party Arrangement Basic Course, you need to have some experience in floral designs or floral design related educational background. California Flower Art Academy is pleased to announce that we offer Introductory Trial Budget Program for only $69. This lesson fee includes not only tuition but also flower materials, oasis (chemical foam to hold flowers) and minimum required container as well. By joning this short program, you can learn two kinds of basic European floral designs spending about 2.5 hours. You can attend this program as a short seminar or you can join this seminar in order to evaluate our way of instructions before enrolling in the official course such as Fresh Flower Arrangement Elementary Course. After trying this short program, if you feel comfortable with our way of instruction and if you are satisfied with our lesson, you can roll over/transfer to Fresh Flower Arrangement Elementary Course. The credits/units earned from Introductory Trial Budget Program will be counted for you to complete the Elementary Course. The curriculum of this Introductory Program is part of Elementary Course. Therefore the lesson fee for Elementary Course (in case you transfer/roll over from Introductory Program) will be just the re,aomomg balance.
